I make this recipe literally once a week!
I sometimes like to add some pepperoncini peppers, along with some of the brine from the jar for a little kick. This is so easy and always great!Reply

Has anyone tried substituting a jar of gravy for the gravy packet?

I first tried this late summer of 2020. I took my kids to stay in a cabin for a much needed change of scenery. We wanted to spend a day exploring the lake and come home to a yummy meal. But I needed it to be simple. This was PERFECT! Thankfully, the cabin had a slow cooker. Ingredients were simple; it doesn’t get easier than this. It was wonderful to come back to the cabin and smell this cooking. Since that time, I’ve made this several times for an easy Sunday dinner. The family loves it! It’s a favorite.Reply

Hi Tina!I haven’t tried this recipe with more chicken. There is quite a bit of sauce/gravy, but if you want to double up the amounts, go for it. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!

I have made this several times, using boneless thighs. The gravy has been chicken or turkey. Every time it is yummy! I’ve served it with pasta and alone, with sides of small potatoes, vegetables. I highly recommend this recipe, definitely 5, or more, stars!
