The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) is a public school system in Evansville, Indiana, United States. The EVSC operates 33 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 4 high schools. The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation also has an online learning program and offers full-day kindergarten through 12th grade.
The EVSC School has more than 163,000 students and employs over 5,000 people. The district operates 59 schools and offers a variety of programs and services to its students. EVSC operates EVSC Online, an online school that offers both public and private online courses. EVSC was formed in 1975 through the merger of the Evansville Community Schools and the Vanderburgh County Schools. The corporation is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees who are elected by the people of Vanderburgh County.
EVSC has a long history of innovation and excellence in education. The corporation was one of the first school districts to implement a high school graduation requirement for all students, and it was also one of the first districts to adopt a pupil referral system for discipline problems.
