WHAT DO YOU REALLY THINK I CAN SAY IN THE NEXT 10 MINUTES?This could be a possible response if you are getting back into the swing of networking and people are pitching or saying a few words about their businesses. This can be your moment or it can be the day you wished you had an emergency and had to leave the room right away.Today I would like to share some tips that you may find useful.1. Don't panic! I know this is easier said but find a way to see this as an opportunity for others in the room to know you2. Begin with the end in mind ( the late Stephen Covey)- What would you like your audience to do as a result of your pitch or presentation?3. Forget the need to be perfect- Do your best and be authentic4. Find a quiet place to gather your thoughts before you step into the room5. Smile and be amazing! What other suggestions do you have? This post was inspired by Milo Dunne, and the amazing people who were at the launch for the first Chelmsford networking meeting for Powered Up Business Networking

#2 is great - what's your goal? Also: make it interactive - ask the audience what they want to hear and answer their questions. Finally, remember YOU are the expert, that's why you've been asked to speak.

Great tips. Mine would be to keep it simple. What's one thing you would like people to do or remember when you have spoken. Just stick to that and avoid giving people a menu of everything you offer.

The Power of Networking in Business Success Ever wondered why some businesses achieve unprecedented success while others, with seemingly similar qualities, don't fare as well? Often the secret ingredient is networking. Networking is not just about connecting with people. It's about building long-lasting relationships that create mutual value. When you network effectively: ✔️ You gain exposure to new ideas and insights ✔️ You develop partnerships for business growth ✔️ You access opportunities you wouldn't have known existed So how can we network effectively? ➡️ Take a genuine interest in other people ➡️ Strive to offer something of value before asking for anything ➡️ Get involved in communities where your target audience hangs out ➡️ Follow up promptly on referrals you are given But remember, networking isn’t a one-time event. It’s an ongoing process that requires time, patience, and genuine effort. Ironically, the more you give in networking, the more you receive. So next time you're wondering how to take your business to the next level - think networking! Let's chat in the comments - What's your best tip for successful networking? Don't forget to share this post within your network!

Walking through the station yesterday, I bumped into one of my clients Simon Crump - just back from some networking - https://rgsit.com/We had a good chat about networking and how proactive networking, within the 'right' groups, can become such a powerful business strategy. In fact, it was lovely to hear about as great success story from the team RGS IT DEVELOPMENT LIMITED about some recent networking, that started a great conversation, that has now led to some potential business. By having networking as one of your business strategies, the return on investment - time and money - can be very positive.Combining your networking, with the rest of your business development strategies, will multiply the results.Ask yourself - am I doing enough networking, in the right groups, with the right people and what results would I like to achieve?Networking is about visibility, creating conversations, PR, education and importantly a bit of fun!real5 Networking ManchesterSci-Tech DaresburyWarrington Business Exchange

I'm hearing "I hate networking" a lot lately. Guess what? There's a secret to flipping that script. Here's the breakdown:Networking blues? You're not alone. The mere mention can freeze some in their tracks. But there's hope on the horizon.Kick the scripts. Being authentic is your magnet. It's what pulls people in and kindles real bonds.Hunt for your vibe. It's not about hoarding contacts. It's about finding your people, your cheerleaders.Flip the script from "What's in it for me?" to "How can I support?" It's about giving, not getting. That's where the magic happens.Networking? It's your ladder, not a chore. It's time to turn the tables and transform networking into your success engine. So, what's next? Ready to turn networking on its head? Let's dive deep, exchange wisdom, and boost each other to the top. Let's do this. 💛

Great words from a great guy, friend and inspiration, owner of Network My Club Bradley Hatchett Networking this week?Consider this.Behind every networker is someone:- Worrying about finances- Under pressure with work- Having emails ignored- Navigating a challenge they’re figuring out- With passions & interests outside of work- Balancing business & family life- Trying their absolute bestLet’s remember the humans at events. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, as it may be tempting to believe from conversations you have at events (or on LinkedIn).People may not remember everything you say when you first meet them. But they'll remember how you made them feel. That goes a long way in networking and building relationships. To unlock this kind of connection, try questions like this at your next event:- What’s exciting you at the moment?- What’s a challenge you’re currently navigating? - What’s the one thing you need to break through your current level?- What does a typical weekend look like for you? They certainly beat; “how’s business?” or “been busy lately?” Focus on building human relationships first, business relationships second.Your business will thank you for it.

5 Mistakes That'll Cost You Big in Business Networking 🚨 1. Quantity Over Quality 🌪 Building a vast network of shallow connections isn't the key to success. Focus on cultivating meaningful relationships that lead to genuine collaborations. 2. The 'Me, Me, Me' Approach 🤳 Networking isn't merely about promoting yourself. It's a two-way street. Listen and engage with others to build trust and long-lasting connections. 3. Ignoring Follow-Ups 📧 You've made a great impression, but what's next? Strengthen the connection by following up promptly and staying in touch. 4. Dismissing Online Networking 🌐 In the digital age, your online presence matters. Make the most of LinkedIn, Clubhouse, and other platforms to expand your reach and foster relationships. 5. Forgetting to Give Back 🔁 Offering value to others is the cornerstone of effective networking. Share your expertise, make introductions, and support your connections. Avoid these costly mistakes, and you'll be well on your way to building a powerful network that'll elevate your business. 👉 What's the most impactful networking tip you've received? Why Your Networking Isn't WorkingNetworking has been rumored to be the most efficient way to make money while making an impact. However, many people engage in networking that isn't productive because:I recall being turned down by a prominent founder when he asked me why I wanted the call, and I replied that I just wanted to know him better, which was the wrong response. What should I have done?1. Start with the "why": Know the goal for networking, something other than simply "knowing people better."2. Identify people who will help me achieve the goal: Clients, impact, or any other relevant factors.3. Research them: Find out who they are, what they do, and what you both have in common.4. Be specific: Use a mutually beneficial interest as an example. For instance, I noticed that you are a founder of Agro-culture, and I am reaching out to inquire if you would like to increase your Agricultural earning by 45%. This way, your networking will work because it benefits both parties.Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

"I don't see the benefit in networking" 😴 Networking with a local group of businesses can offer numerous advantages that can benefit both your professional and personal growth. Here are five compelling reasons why networking with a local business group is a great idea:1️⃣ Access to a Diverse Pool of Expertise: Local business groups often consist of professionals from various industries and backgrounds. When you network with them, you gain access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise that can help you solve problems, make informed decisions, and learn from their experiences.2️⃣ Increased Visibility and Brand Awareness: Networking within your local business community can help raise your profile and increase awareness of your brand or services. As you build relationships and establish your presence, more people will recognise and trust your business, potentially leading to new opportunities and customers.3️⃣ Resource Sharing and Collaboration: Local business networks foster an environment of cooperation and resource sharing. You can collaborate on projects, share resources, and benefit from cost-effective solutions that might not be readily available to you otherwise. This collaborative spirit can lead to mutual growth and success.4️⃣ Access to New Opportunities: Networking is a powerful tool for uncovering new business opportunities. You may discover potential partnerships, joint ventures, or even investment opportunities that you wouldn't have come across otherwise. Being part of a local business group can help you tap into a broader network of connections.5️⃣ Personal and Professional Development: Engaging with a local business group can be a catalyst for personal and professional growth. By attending events, workshops, and seminars, you can enhance your skills, gain insights into industry trends, and stay updated with the latest developments in your field. Additionally, networking can boost your self-confidence and communication skills, which are essential in business. Are you looking to grow your business based in the Hemel Hempstead area?Get in touch today, and come and visit us for free!Photo: Michelle Storm

HOW TO BUILD YOUR NETWORK TO INCREASE YOUR BUSINESS NETWORTHThe goal of networking is to meet new people—friends, associates in related fields, and perhaps business contacts. You can advance swiftly in your profession with new connections. Networking is a great tool to be explored. The adage "your network equals your net worth" or, to put it another way, "it's not what you know, it's who you know" is undoubtedly one you've heard. Influential and wealthy people frequently associate with other people who share their qualities. Through your network, you can raise your net worth. However, networking isn't just about making connections with wealthy individuals; it's also about doing so with people who can help you by using their influence. The worst thing you can do when networking is… 👇Sticking with the same group of people, as horrible as it sounds…hear me out 💭Networking can be intimidating, but it’s a crucial part of business. I always reframe my networking nerves by remembering that speaking with people is such a gift. You might be tempted to stick with the same group of people for an entire event, but don’t be afraid to move on from your group. From experience, I can assure you people won't be offended. Instead, they’ll see that you are clear about what you want.& if you’re really struggling with breaking off, just say you're popping to get a drink or to the loo.. 🤣Don’t limit yourself. Get out there and meet people. You never know what opportunities, learnings and ways you can be of service are out there. What are your top networking tips?📷Photo of Asad, whom I met by putting myself out there and networking 😉

The idea of networking has always bothered me. Though I know and firmly believe that networking has immense potential to connect and bring in business and helps in personal growth. I have known a lot of people who are extremely great with networking and when they do so, their business is guaranteed. And I wanted to learn the art of networking. I started observing people who are great at networking, the way they strike meaningful conversations and make deeper connections. This is what I learned.. 😇Networking happens not only at physical events but also at virtual meetings. It’s important to understand who you can connect with, share a professional attributes and at the same time contribute to their professional growth You need to have the intentions to learn, listen and empathise. Connections made with these intentions go long way into your personal growth and professional reach! And finally, even if walking into a room full of strangers is your biggest fear, have a genuine smile, open mind and warm attitude. A smile never goes out of fashion 😀What are your thoughts? How do you conduct yourself at networking events? I loved what Simon Sinek has to say about networking 👇🏻
